Afterall, she WAS there. After facing much criticism and negative publicity, Janet Jackson publicly apologized and admitted responsibility for the now notorious SuperBowl halftime show stunt. Facing a media onslaught, Jackson has bravely admitted fault, even as MTV officials deny any knowledge of the show's racy conclusion. According to numerous sources, including CNN, Jackson issued a statement saying: "The decision to have a costume reveal at the end of my halftime show performance was made after final rehearsals, MTV was completely unaware of it. It was not my intention that it go as far as it did. I apologize to anyone offended, including the audience, MTV, CBS and the NFL."

Update! According to a recent interview with Ebony magazine, Janet Jackson has expressed anger towards the media for altering her apology. She is quoted as saying: "Sometimes they cut out that I said it was an accident. That's what the media does... I probably should have done it live, but there was so much going on at the time that I needed to just get it done."
All right! After other family members are dodging police and press, Ms. Jackson has the GALL to own up to a stupid act. So what if it netted her a huge amount of publicity (our marketing dept. bows to her GALL), at least she admitted her mistake.

The Truman award came from our chief editor's decision to have a counter to the Marty award. Folks, if you haven't figured it out, this site is a political satire site to expose the tendency for people to blame everyone but themselves for their mistakes. We have the Marty, but what about those people that do admit their mistakes? Have you noticed that half the time many people jump on the bandwagon and crucify them? It's really a toss up, because the other half of the time, everyone eventually leaves them

alone. Of course, everyone else points out that they NEVER made that mistake and this person must be fired, terminated, executed or whatever. So, we'll be watching out for those finger pointers. This is why we named it after Harry S Truman, 33rd US President. Click here if you want to learn more about his famous slogan. In the meantime, join us in saluting these special people that despite all the repercussions own up to their mistakes.
